Jamie Carroll offers a counselling space that is grounded, thoughtful and deeply human. His work supports adults who want to understand themselves better, feel more at ease in their lives, and reconnect with a sense of purpose, confidence and authenticity.
Jamie works with adults (18+) and brings particular sensitivity and inclusivity when supporting LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse clients. His approach is calm, respectful and collaborative, creating a space where you can explore what’s going on for you at your own pace.
A Counsellor Who Sees the Whole Person
Jamie is a qualified Psychosynthesis Therapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist, holding an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychology and a Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling from Middlesex University and the Institute of Psychosynthesis. He is a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and works in line with professional ethical standards to ensure therapy is safe, confidential and supportive.
At the heart of Jamie’s work is the belief that counselling should feel soulful. Not abstract or overwhelming, but genuinely human. A place where you feel seen, heard and understood – not analysed or judged.
Clients often come to Jamie feeling disconnected from themselves, caught in anxious thought patterns, struggling with confidence, or questioning their direction in life. His role is not to tell you who to be, but to help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that already know.

Jamie’s Philosophy
“The magic of therapy is in the human connection, not particular techniques. My work is about helping you reconnect to your Higher Self, your authenticity, and your sense of purpose.”
Jamie believes therapy is an opportunity to pause and reflect on questions we rarely make space for:
- Am I living in a way that feels true to me?
- Am I being who I want to be?
- What needs to change so I can feel more at ease in myself?
Counselling with Jamie is not about quick fixes. It’s about meaningful, lasting change rooted in self-awareness, compassion and choice.
Therapeutic Approach
Jamie specialises in Psychosynthesis and Transpersonal Therapy – approaches that recognise we all have a wiser, more grounded part of ourselves that can guide healing and growth.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, Psychosynthesis looks at the whole person: thoughts, emotions, behaviour, values and meaning. Therapy explores both present-day challenges and deeper patterns that may be influencing how you relate to yourself and others.
Alongside talk therapy, Jamie may integrate Clinical Hypnotherapy where appropriate. Hypnotherapy can help access subconscious beliefs, reduce anxiety responses, and gently shift patterns that feel hard to change through talking alone.
Areas Jamie Supports
Jamie has experience supporting clients with a wide range of presenting issues, including:
- Anxiety and depression
- Emetophobia (fear of vomiting)
- Stress and overwhelm
- Relationship and attachment difficulties
- Low self-esteem and confidence
- Life transitions and decision-making
- Personal growth and self-discovery
- Spiritual development and meaning-seeking
He brings particular expertise in emetophobia, with over 700 hours as a Thrive Consultant, using CBT-informed and structured approaches to help clients regain confidence and reduce avoidance.
Experience That Builds Trust
Jamie brings over 200+ counselling client hours, alongside extensive experience from organisational and private sector roles. Before training as a counsellor, he spent nine years in organisational settings and four years in project management, giving him a grounded understanding of work-related stress, pressure and burnout.
Clients often say they appreciate Jamie’s calm presence, his ability to listen deeply, and his way of explaining things clearly without jargon.
A Safe, Inclusive Space
Jamie works with adults from all backgrounds and identities. He offers an affirming, non-judgmental environment for LGBTQIA+ clients and is mindful of neurodiversity, adapting sessions to suit individual needs and communication styles.
Therapy is always collaborative – you are involved in shaping the work, setting the pace, and deciding what feels most helpful for you.
