Supporting Men’s Mental Health
Men’s mental health is too often overlooked. While women are more likely to be diagnosed with anxiety or depression, men remain less likely to seek support — even though suicide is the single biggest killer of men under 50 in the UK (ONS, 2023).
The stigma around “just getting on with it” stops many men from reaching out. But struggling in silence doesn’t have to be the norm. Whether you’re facing work pressures, relationship difficulties, health concerns, or changes in identity, counselling can give you space to talk things through without judgement.
Workplace stress is reported by over 60% of men in full-time employment (HSE, 2023)
Suicide is the leading cause of death in men under 50 (ONS, 2023)
1 in 8 men experience a common mental health problem such as depression or anxiety (Mind UK, 2023)
Men are less likely than women to access psychological therapies (NHS Digital, 2023)
At Hope Therapy & Counselling Services, we provide confidential, flexible support for men at every stage of life.

Find out moreHow We Work
We start with a free, no-obligation consultation to talk through your concerns and discuss the type of support that might work best for you. From there, you can choose to have sessions online, over the phone, or in person, with appointments available during the day, in the evening, or at weekends. Your counsellor will work with you to create a plan that focuses on your priorities — whether that’s managing anxiety, improving self-esteem, navigating life transitions, or finding ways to feel calmer and more balanced.
