About the Author

Ian Stockbridge is the Lead Counsellor and Founder of Hope Therapy & Counselling Services, a well-respected counselling organisation providing mental health and relationship support to individuals, couples, and organisations across the UK. A Senior Accredited Member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), Ian brings both clinical expertise and compassion to his work. 

With a degree in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and postgraduate training in clinical supervision, Ian has also received specialist training in Person-Centred Counselling, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed practice. His integrated approach allows him to support clients through a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma and emotional dysregulation, to name but a few. 

Ian has been at the forefront of improving awareness and support for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), having, through his counselling practice and advocacy work, worked closely with individuals living with this condition. Ian continues to help shed light on the complex emotional and relational challenges that PMDD brings. 

As a passionate believer in inclusive and accessible therapy, Ian, through his counselling practice Hope Therapy & Counselling Services,  continues to promote a supportive space for all, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities. His podcast, The Talk Room, furthers his mission to normalise conversations around mental health and offer practical insights into emotional wellbeing.
