What is Insomnia?
Insomnia is one of the most common sleep disorders. Some studies indicate that between 10% and 50% of people experience insomnia worldwide. The issue can have a contributory impact on serious health and wellbeing.
Insomnia can be the result of many different things, ranging from stress, anxiety and chronic pain to name but a few. It can even be as sleeping in a new house or with a new partner.
So what can Hope therapy do for you?
The underlying reason for your insomnia will influence the approach that we might adopt to support you. We are able to help you explore the underlying causes and then offer a variety of support options. Support may come in the form of education or low-cost counsellor supported online programmes that you can work through at home. Through to full counselling, CBT or hypnotherapy services depending on your need.
Depending on your needs, your counsellor or therapist will work with you in a variety of different ways. Some of the things they may discuss include:
- Stimulus control.
- Sleep restriction, hygiene and environment improvement.
- Relaxation training.
- Remaining passively awake.
- Biofeedback.
